DOTCHROME-DS Carbazochrome Salicylate Injection

DOTCHROME-DS contains CARBAZOCHROME SALICYLATE which is Adrenochrome monosemicarbazone sodium salicylate complex. It is haemostatic compound used as a powerful systemic coagulant. It is used in therapy at-least from the last 4 Decades.

COMPOSITION :-
Each ml. contains:
Carbazochrome Salicylate
eqv. to Adrenochrome Monosemicarbazone     I.P      10mg.

SAFETY OF DOTCHROME-DS :-
The use of DOTCHROME-DS as a haemostat has proven its safety in animals.
DOTCHROME-DS does not have any effect on blood pressure, cardiac rate and output or blood clotting mechanism (USD. 1960).
DOTCHROME-DS injection neither produces local reaction at the site nor systemic or metabolic disturbances.
DOTCHROME-DS was thought as the compound involved in producing schizophrenia, but now this possibility is discontinued (Lewis. 1970).
Since the action of DOTCHROME-DS is not mediated through blood component, it does not form emboli.

INDICATION :-
DOTCHROME-DS in indicated to control the external and internal bleeding due to various causes in large and small animals such as :

  • Gastrointestinal Bleeding
  • Epistaxis
  • Haemoptysis
  • Bleeding Ulcers
  • Antepartum & Post Partum Bleeding
  • Vaginal Bleeding
  • Haematuria
  • Haemorrhagic Cystitis
  • Cerebral Haemorrhage
  • Retinal Haemorrhage
  • Pulmonary Bleeding
  • Blood in Milk
  • In conditions associated with increased capillary permeability i.e. Allergic conditions
  • Inflammation.

 

DOSE & ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION :-

By I.M route only.
Large Animals : 2.5 – 5 ml
Small Animals : 1 – 1.5 ml
