DOTFLOX Ciprofloxacin Injection

DOTFLOX contains CIPROFLOXACIN LACTATE is an effective anti-microbial and anti-infectious agent which belongs to fluoroquinolone group. It acts as a Broad spectrum anti-bacterial agent providing best efficacy against bacteria resistant to other anti-biotics. CIPROFLOXACIN LACTATE offers quick absorption and rapid high serum concentration and is recommended as Drug Of Choice (DOC) for the prevention and treatment of different infectious diseases of Poultry, Ruminants & Rabbits.

SPECIES SUSCEPTIBLE TO “DOTFLOX“

Gram Positive :- Staphylococci Sp., Streptococci Sp., Corynebacterium Sp., Listeria Sp., Bacillus Anthracis., Clostridium Sp (especially Cl. Type B & Type D Perifringes, Cl.Chavoei

Gram Negative :- Pseudomonas aureginosa, Salmonella Sp, Proteus Vulgaris, Escherisia Coli, Vibriocoii, Enterobacteria, Klebsilla, Brucella Sp.

COMPOSITION :-
Each ml. contains: 
Ciprofloxacin Lactate
Equivalent to Ciprofloxacin         I.P.       40 mg
Benzyl Alcohol                                I.P.       1.5% v/v.

INDICATION :-

  • Upper Respiratory Tract Infection
  • Gastrointestinal Tract Infections
  • Mastitis
  • Metritis, Endometritis, Pyometra, Salphingitis.
  • Urinary Tract Infections (Cystitis, Nephritis, Urethritis)
  • Skin, Bone & Ear Infections.
  • In pre & post surgical care.
  • Meningitis
  • Anthrax

 

DOSE & ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION :-

By I.M / I.V route only.
4 – 5 mg. per Kg body weight, every 12 hours
When given by I.V in severe cases the suggested dose is diluted with Normal Saline, Dextrose Saline or Ringer Lactate solution as a slow drip. (In large animals 30 ml. “DOTFLOX” is diluted with 540 ml of any one of the infusions and given as slow I.V)

ADVICE :-
“It is advisable that the drug should be injected at 2 to 3 different sites when the intramuscular route of administration is chosen”.
