DOTQUIL Triflupromazine HCl Injection

DOTQUIL contains TRIFLUPROMAZINE binds to the dopamine D1 and dopamine D2 receptors and inhibits their activity. The mechanism of the anti-emetic effect is due predominantly to blockage of the dopamine D2 neurotransmitter receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) and vomiting centre. TRIFLUPROMAZINE blocks the neurotransmitter dopamine and the vagus nerve in the gastrointestinal tract. TRIFLUPROMAZINE also binds the muscarinic acetylcholine receptors (M1 and M2) and the tryptamine D receptors (5HT_2B).
TRIFLUPROMAZINE also acts as Pre-anesthetic agent in surgeries

COMPOSITION :-
Each ml contains:
Triflupromazine HCl      I.P.     20 mg 
Benzyl Alcohol                I.P.     1.50 %
Sodium Chloride            I.P.     0.20 % 

INDICATION :-

• Failure to let-down of milk
• prolapse of uterus and vagina
• Nausea 
• Vomiting

DOSE & ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION :-

By I.M or I.V route only.
10 – 20 mg / 100 kg Body Weight
Dogs : 1 – 4 mg / kg Body Weight.
Large Animals : 0.22-0.33 mg / Kg Body Weight
Small Animals : 2 – 4 mg / Kg Body weight
Maximum dosage level may vary from animal to animal and is to be adjusted as per requirement.
