MELOXIDOT

Description

MELOXIDOT contains the drug MELOXICAM. The drug works by blocking the action of a substance in the body called cyclo-oxygenase(COX). Prostaglandins are produced by the body in response to injury and certain diseases and conditions and cause pain, swelling, and inflammation.

MELOXICAM acts as an infectious agent for cell damage to the release of cytokinins, histamines & other chemical It helps in blood vessels dilate and capillaries became leaky.

MELOXICAM helps to increase blood flow into the area and reduce redness and heat in the form of proportion & reduces edema fluid into the tissue of pain.

COMPOSITION :–
Each ml contains:
Meloxicam          B.P.          5 mg
Benzyl Alcohol   I.P.          2% v/v.

INDICATION :-

• Mastitis
• Pyrexia
• Respiratory Inflammation
• Inflamed tissue
• Post – Surgical pain & inflammation
• Osteoarthritis.

 

DOSE & ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION :-

By I.M / I.V. / S.C. route only.

Sheep & Goat :
2 – 3 ml / 33 kg body weight up to 3 – 5 days.

Dogs :
Musculo – skeletal disorders
0.2 mg / kg body weight
(i.e. 0.4 ml/10 kg body weight).

Cats :
Reduction of post-operative pain
0.3 mg / kg body weight
(i.e. 0.06 ml/kg body weight).

                        OR

As directed by the Veterinarian.

 

CONTRA-INDICATION :-

Do not use in pregnant or lactating animals.

Do not use in animals suffering from GIT disorders such as irritation and haemorrhage, impaired hepatic, cardiac or renal function and haemorrhagic disorders.

Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.

Do not use in animals less than 6 weeks of age nor in cats of less than 2 kg.

Avoid use in any dehydrated, hypovolaemic or hypotensive animal, as there is a potential risk of renal toxicity.
