Description

DOTVITA-B12 is a vitamin B12 supplement for cattle and it is also used in poultry to encourage growth and overcome stress problems.

Vitamin B12 is one of the most important vitamins required for the overall health of livestock animals. Deficiency in vitamin B12 results in a decreased amount of cobalt in the body. All ruminants and poultry require a sufficient amount of cobalt in their diet to grow and develop rapidly. Sheep require more vitamin B than cattle, especially in young animals and wearers that go through rapid growth.

In sheep, the deficiency is more pronounced as you can notice weepy eyes with matted wool just below the eyes. Wool can sometimes break in severe cases. Ewes with vitamin B12 deficiency give birth to small and weak lambs.

In cattle, the deficiency of this essential vitamin results in reduced milk production. Calves show signs of scours. Pica or depraved appetite will be noticeable in cattle. Instead of eating forage and cattle feed, the cattle may start eating leaves, bark, or dirt. Simply adding vitamin B12 supplements to the diet can help you to overcome this problem.

In poultry, stress is caused due to the chemicals in the food. Also, chickens need to be vaccinated to reduce the occurrence of diseases. This results in animal stress. Debeaking is crucial to growing the chicken in poultry farming. It also adds to the stress of the animals. Deworming is also important as it protects the birds from various illness-causing bacteria. In cattle, psychological stress can manifest as physical problems. Fear in cattle due to improper handling is common in young calves. They generate heat while digesting food. Changes in the weather conditions also cause heat stress. In India, extreme summer temperatures cause heat stress in cattle.
